Hey loves! A week ago or so I realized that I haven't shared much about me on my blog so I thought I'd do a Q&A! I asked my followers on Instagram to ask me questions that I could answer on this post (you can follow me @thegeorgianprep so you don't miss an opportunity like this again!) Let's get into the post! What's your favorite Lilly Pulitzer Print? So this is a really hard question, there are so many I love! My absolute favorites have to be First Impressions, Lobstah Roll, Oh Shello, and You Gotta Regetta. How/when did you become "preppy"? Around a year ago, my best friend and I had a preppy account on Instagram, but it failed. I was following tons of preppy accounts on my personal Instagram, and it really made me miss having my old account. Last December, I decided to start my current account! I guess I have been "preppy" my whole life, and I really love the community! What's one thing you think everyone should own? Great question! I thought about this for a really long time and I couldn't decide between two items. I think everyone should own a pair of trendy yet cute sneakers, and fun shorts. When I thought about the sneakers, I was mainly thinking about my converse. I wear mine all the time and I think they are great to wear with a t-shirt and jean shorts for a more casual look (they're super comfortable, too!). Fun, patterned shorts are so cute paired with a solid colored top, and there are so many adorable pairs out there! What's your favorite thing to do when you are bored? Currently, my favorite thing to do when I am bored is paint. I've been really into water-coloring Lilly prints lately, it's so fun! What's your go-to outfit? For a casual look, I'd say a preppy t-shirt, jean or Nike shorts, and my pair of converses I mentioned earlier or my Birkenstocks. For a little fancier look, I love how my black and white gingham bow shorts and a simple white tee with black sandals look! What's the #1 thing on your current wish list?
The #1 thing on my wish list are these Lilly Pulitzer shorts. I currently don't own any Lilly Pulitzer items, (other than a head band and a planner) and I can already see tons of adorable outfits with these shorts! Thank you so much for reading! xoxo, The Georgian Prep

I'm sure y'all know that my family took a vacation to the big island of Hawaii about a week ago. It was totally not what I expected, but it was super fun! I'm not going to go into full detail about each day because this post would be very long, so I will just tell y'all the overall plan for each day. Arrival We left Georgia on the 13th around 1:00 pm. This being my first time on an airplane since I was a toddler, I naturally had to take a ton of airplane pictures. We laid-over in L.A. for around an hour, then we hopped on a six hour flight to Hawaii! Since it was around 2:00am Georgia time, we planned to stay in a hotel in the town of Kona (the far west side of the island) close to the airport. Wednesday, June 14th The next morning we woke up, checked out of the hotel, and made our way to Hilo, a town on the east side of the island. In order to get to Hilo, you have to take the highway that runs all the way along the southern border. We planned to do all of the stuff on the south side while we made our way to Hilo! My dad wanted coffee, so we stopped at a little shop close to Kona. It had beautiful views! Our next stop was this ancient burial site. Kind of creepy, but it was so pretty! After driving a little further, we stopped at this gorgeous site in the town of Honaunau. Definitely one of the prettiest destinations on the island. Our next stop was another favorite- the "Place of Refuge" in Honaunau. It was an old prison, but is absolutely gorgeous! It's like a mini beach with tons of palm trees and lava rocks. On our way to the next destination, we stopped at a little bakery in the town of Punaluu for lunch and malasadas! A malasada is basically the Hawaiian version of a donut, except it is covered in sugar! Close to the bakery, we stopped at the black sand beach. It was so cool! Our next stop was Volcanoes National Park. First we looked at the crater, then we walked through the Thurston Lava Tubes, basically where lava formed a giant tube that you can actually walk through! Finally, our last stop of the day (my personal favorite) the sea arch. This was formed by waves crashing against the lava rock so hard that the inside eventually collapsed. Thursday, June 15th Today, our plan was pretty much the same as yesterday's, but instead of travelling along the south side, we drove around the north side to the town of Waikoloa, where we stayed the rest of the trip. We woke up and started our day by going to Rainbow Falls. If you get there at just the right time, you can see a rainbow just above the waterfall, but unfortunately, we were a little too late. Driving a little further on our route, we decided to stop at the Hawaiian Botanical Gardens. It was this HUGE garden with tons of greenery and flowers! (there were even baby pineapples!) Also, since I new that we would be walking lot, I wore my The Pinkish Flamingo T-shirt with black leggings. The shirt is so comfortable, and you can get yours 30% off with my code "Caroline3"! Before I tell y'all about our next stop, I wanted to point out something. Probably 3/4ths of the island is dead land with mounds of lava rock and tall grasses sticking out. It was definitely not what I expected. Our next stop was one of the largest waterfalls in the United States-Akaka Falls. In this picture you can't even see the bottom of the waterfall, it was that long! The rest of the day was just driving to our hotel in Waikoloa. Thursday, June 15th One of the days I was most excited for was Thursday because we planned to go on a horseback tour in the valley of Honokaa. I have always wanted to ride a horse, and it was so fun! After our tour was over, we pretty much just went back to the hotel to relax. The rest of the trip Since we had already seen pretty much everything on the island, the rest of the trip was just relaxing by the pool or the beach. However, we did do a couple of fun things, so I will tell y'all about those. One night we drove up to the dormant volcano, Mauna Kea, because they have a star tour where they will tell you about the stars and constellations. Since we got there early, we were able to see the sunset, and it was incredible! On the last day of our trip, our hotel had a luau. If you ever go to Hawaii, you HAVE to go to a luau, it might of been my favorite part! I didn't take any pictures, but it was so interesting learning about the Hawaiian culture.
So that was all for my Hawaii Recap post. I hope y'all enjoyed the pictures, and I'm sorry I didn't have a lot for the last part of the trip. xoxo, The Georgian Prep Good Morning! Before I get into the actual post, I wanted to point out a change you've probably already noticed. Formally known as "Scripture Sundays" I've changed the name of this series to "Satisfying Scriptures". Why? Well, It just now came to my attention that Faith from A Pocketful Of Faith's (check out her blog here!) series is also called "Scripture Sundays". I've been reading her Scripture Sunday posts for awhile now, and her posts actually inspired me to start this series on my blog, too. I guess it never caught my attention that I called my series the same as hers, so I wanted her to have the name since, well, it was her idea first. Faith, if you are reading this, I am sorry for the little mishap. I guess I got so used to reading your posts, I naturally called mine the same! So, now my series is called "Satisfying Scriptures", because I believe God's word is very satisfying, and is good for your soul. I went back to my four other posts and changed the name as well. If this is your first time reading a post in my series, I basically share a verse or two that I have really been loving lately. Today's verses are Psalm 62:6 and Isaiah 41:10.
Psalm 62:6- "He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken." Isaiah 41:10- "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." You are always safe with God. That's one of my favorite parts of Isaiah 41:10 where it says "So do not fear, for I am with you". If you trust in God, he will never let you fall. He is always with you and taking care of you. I found these verses in my devotional book and I love the part where it said "When you turn away from God, you can get hurt by the darkness that is in this world. Don't be surprised by how easily you slip into sin when you forget to hold onto God's hand." God is your fortress and your protection, he keeps you safe from the bad things this world can bring. Have a great week, and remember, God is always with you! xoxo, The Georgian Prep Ahh, it feels so great to be blogging again! As many of you know, my family recently took a vacation to Hawaii (be o the lookout for a recap post!) and I really wanted to relax on my vacation and not have to worry about lugging my laptop on the airplane. I am so excited to be blogging again and I have lots of fun content planned! When we got home from the airport, I saw a package waiting on our front steps and it turned out to be my Southern Girl Prep summer rep package! I was so excited to see what was inside! I unboxed everything on my Instagram stories, but I thought I could give a more in-depth review of each item in my box. (Sorry for the horrible pictures! I took these as soon as I opened my box at night so it was super dark in my room,) So this is what my package looks like! It is just this big goody bag filled with lots of stuff. Gingham tank
The first item I pulled out of my box was this adorable mint green racer back tank with gingham trim. It has their little dog on the chest and on the back it says Southern Girl Prep. The material is so soft and stretchy, it would be the perfect workout tank. It does run a little small, so I would recommend ordering a size up. I'm sure you've probably heard of bullet journaling. If not, I'm here to enlighten you! Bullet journaling is kind of like planning, but I am A LOT more creative with my bullet journal than I am with my planner. From little doodles to fun pages I feel that bullet journaling is a great way to let you have fun and be artistic but is still an amazing way to stay organized. In this post I will show y'all my pages so far and tell y'all about my favorite products. (Also, so sorry for the bad lighting in these pictures!) This is my bullet journal. It's a marble-printed notebook from HomeGoods that I got for really cheap. Basically any notebook will work! The little rose gold bar says "journal". The first page of my bullet journal is my index. This is where you write down what each page is and its page number so you can locate the page easier when you have a lot of pages. ( The orange washi-tape on the side is just covering up where I had cut out other pages. I had lots of other pages before but I didn't like how they were organized so I cut them out) The next 2 pages I left blank for extra index pages. My next two pages are my calendars. The first page is my 2017 yearly spread and the next is my June spread. Below I wrote important dates and holidays for that month. The next page in my journal is a habit tracker. I drew a giant grid (always use a ruler!) and wrote down the dates at the top and tasks that may be easy to forget on the side. I basically wrote things like "clean the guinea pig cage" or "bible study". This page really helps me to stay organized. After that I have my Instagram tracker. On June 1st I jotted down how many followers, posts, and blog posts I had. Then, on June 30th I will do the same so I can see my growth for that month. Below, I had space left, so I just wrote my goal there. On the right side is my gratitude list-what I'm thankful for, or examples of God. Here I write down anything I am thankful for so I never take those things for-granted. So those are all of my pages so far. Now, I will show y'all my favorite products to use. I use these GelWriter pens I got from Sam's. Yes, I know 100 pens is kind of crazy, but they were only $15. These pens write so smoothly and they come in every color imaginable- even neons, pastels, metallic, and glitter! They came in their own stand so you don't have to take them out and cram them into a pencil pouch. The only downsides is that they run out of ink fast, and they kind of bleed through if you write too hard. I definitely would still recommend them though! These are my favorite colors. I used the flash in this picture just so y'all could see how sparkily they are! The washi tape I use is just from my old planner that I got at Michaels. I love the designs!
So those were really the only products I use. If you want to start a bullet journal, I've gathered up some page ideas to help you get started! Birthdays Outfit ideas Quotes Bible verses Travel bucket list Blog post ideas (if you have a blog) Monthly Memories The list goes on and on. If you ever need more inspiration, check out Pinterest! They have loads of creative ideas for your bullet journal. Thanks for reading! xoxo, The Georgian Prep Hey guys! Today's post is all about my current obsessions from a website called SheIn. SheIn is a website that sells super cute, trendy, preppy clothing for a super affordable price. When I say super affordable, I mean it; most of their pieces are between $10-$25! I will link each piece individually, but I've linked the website here. The list goes on and on, but I've linked my top 15 favorite pieces. Shop each piece by clicking its name in bold. Black Gingham Peplum Top - $13 Blue Ruffle Top - $10 Royal Blue Cut-out Top - $13 White Tiered Top -$14 Black Gingham Top -$19 White Bell Sleeved Top with Pom Poms (similar) -$20
So those were my top 15 favorite things from She In. Thanks for reading! xoxo, The Georgian Prep Hey guys! Welcome or welcome back to my blog! Today's post is my 4th post in my Scripture Sunday series. Scripture Sundays are basically posts where I share a Bible verse or two that I have really been loving lately. See my first here, my second here, and my third here.
Colossians 2:2-3: My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. This verse was featured in my devotional (Jesus Calling) a couple of days ago and I LOVED what it had to say. It basically said that God has a plan for your entire day before you even wake up. He prepares your path to be filled with blessings- sunshine, flowers, birds, (puppies ;)) and even answered prayers. Your day may be filled with other blessings, or troubles that will teach you all kinds of lessons that will make you that much stronger for the next day. All of God's blessings are to remind you that He is with you always. In God you can find all the hidden treasures of wisdom and knowledge. So remember, as you go through this week to look for signs of God all around you- his blessings are often taken for-granted. xoxo, The Georgian Prep Hey guys! Today's post is going to be "Things to do during summer". Without being in school and having no homework to do, your life can get pretty boring. I've made a list of my top 10 favorite things to do during summer! 1. Take Artsy Pictures
Photography is one of my favorite hobbies, and it is so easy for anyone to do! I don't have a professional camera, I just use my phone to take my pictures, but I am looking into investing in a camera. 2. Plant Flowers I love going to Home Depot or Lowes to pick out flowers to plant. Making different arrangements is so much fun to me (you can take artsy pictures of the flowers too)! 3. Make Dessert I love to bake, and making your favorite dessert is an amazing past-time. Whether it's cookies, brownies, or key lime pie, baking is super fun, and you get to eat it when you're done! :) 4. Paint Your Nails Let's be real, I don't think anyone is as good at painting nails than the lady at the salon, but I always think testing out new designs is super fun! 5. Make Lemonade Making lemonade is super easy and delicious, and is very refreshing for hot summer days. 6. Color an Adult Coloring Book A great way to unwind and relax is coloring in an adult coloring book. There are so many different ones out there, and the designs take a while to complete, so this makes for the perfect past-time. 7. Paint On A Canvas I honestly love painting, and I'm pretty sure I could spend days painting cute, inspiring designs. 8. Draw Drawing doesn't just have to be for the super artistic people- searching tutorials on Pinterest or Youtube and testing them out will make for an amazing afternoon. 9. Try A New Hairstyle I personally love braiding my hair, and Pinterest has tons of adorable hairstyles that you can try on yourself, your friend, or your sister! 10. Re-arrange Your Room Moving furniture around is a fun way to make your room seem more interesting. What's even more fun is completely re-doing your room! So those were my top 10 favorite things to do during summer. I hope y'all enjoyed today's post! xoxo, The Georgian Prep Hey! If you follow me on Instagram (@thegeorgianprep), then you would know I posted a poll on my story with 4 different post options for this blog post today. The only option that was voted on was "How to get Preppy Stickers for Free", so that's what I'll be sharing with y'all today! These are all of my stickers that I've collected over time and all of them were free! Today I will be sharing 5 methods about collecting stickers. Keep in mind that companies have a lot of sticker requests, so it may take 3-4 weeks for them to arrive. Linked Form A lot of companies have a link on their website that may say "Sticker Request Form". All you have to do is fill out The form and they will send you some stickers! Jadelynn Brooke Chaco Southern Tide Love and Pineapples Southern Marsh (Not pictured) Lauren James Backcountry Pelican Coast The Lucky Knot Email/contact These are some of the stickers I've gotten from emailing companies of filling out the contact form on their website. (I've gotten others, they're just already stuck on something.) Every company should have a "Contact Us" page linked towards the bottom of their website. Just fill out your information and where it says "inquiry" say how much you love their company and that you want to promote their brand through some stickers. Example: "Hi! I love (company) and I was wondering if you could send me some free stickers that I could use to promote your brand by putting them on my laptop or school binder. Thank you! My contact info is below." I would also include your name and mailing address again after you say thanks. Here are some companies that will send you stickers. (Click the company name and their contact page should be linked.) Also, Southern Fried is pictured, but I actually received that sticker through another method which I will share next. Yeti Simply Southern Sperry Patagonia- They will reply to your email with a link that you have to fill out. Birkenstock SASE (self addressed stamped envelope) A SASE is basically a pre-addressed, pre-stamped, unsealed envelope to yourself inside an envelope addressed to a company. (an envelope inside an envelope :) Below are some companies that will send you some stickers back. Ivory Ella: (they ask you to include your best drawing of an elephant in the envelope) Ivory Ella P.O. Box 1908 Westerly, RI 02891 Vineyard Vines: Vineyard Vines sticker request 181 Harbor drive Stamford, CT 06901 Southern Fried: Southern Fried Cotton Attn: Free Decal 118 N. Main Street Greenville, SC 29601 ENO: ENO Attn: sticker request 24 Buxton Ave Ashville, NC 28801 Mobile Bay: Mobile Bay Stickers PO Box 1127 Auburn, AL 36831 With a Purchase A lot of companies will include a sticker or two with a purchase. These are the stickers I've received along with a product. If you click on the company's, their website should be linked. Jadelynn Brooke Sashka Co Simple Beads Southern Shirt Southern Girl Prep Ivory Ella Using a discount code Another easy way to score stickers is to use someone's discount code. The first picture is all of the stickers I received on a recent Jadelynn Brooke purchase. I used Molly's (@mollypreps) code MMHS17 for 15% off my purchase, and she sent me a ton of JLB stickers! The second picture is the sticker you will receive if you are the next person to use my code, so act fast if you want either one! My code for Sand Cloud is CarolineBL25 for 25% off and I will send you one of the white stickers. My code for Sashka Co is TGP25 for 25% off your purchase, and I will send you the "Be Kind" sticker. Just DM me on Instagram with proof of your purchase! Shop Sand Cloud Shop Sashka Co This brand was a bit unusual when it came to free stickers. You have to go through the process like you're actually buying a product but it is completely free and they will send you 5 of these huge decals. I've linked it here.
So that was all for today's post! Soon you will have stickers pouring in and you will be on your way to a massive sticker collection! Thanks so much for reading! xoxo, The Georgian Prep Hey y'all! Welcome or welcome back! Today's post will be my 3rd Scripture Sunday post. I basically high-light a verse I have been loving lately, and talk about it a little. You can check out my first Scripture Sunday post here, and my second here.
Joshua 1:9- "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." In this chapter, God is telling Joshua that Moses had recently died, and he promised Moses land. So, he gave Joshua (a relative of Moses) the land he promised Moses. They would need to cross the Jordan river to get to the land. So God was telling him to not be afraid, and to be courageous. Anything you're going through in life, do it with Christ. Do not be afraid, God is with you whenever, and wherever you go. Be strong and courageous in your faith and you can conquer anything! Thank you so much for reading! Treat your mothers right, and have an amazing week! xoxo, The Georgian Prep |
